Dr. Michael Philip Short provide official recommendations on Nuclear Engineering curriculum

Within framework of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s Technical Cooperation Project MON0012 and invitation of Nuclear Energy Commission of Mongolian and School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) of National University of Mongolia (NUM), Dr. Michael Philip Short, Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) visited in NUM as an international expert between 27-31 May, 2019.

During this visit, he had a discussion with B. Ochirkhuyag, the Vice-President for Research and Innovation, for further collaboration between NUM and MIT. Also, he gave a presentation in SEAS seminar about MIT’s the best teaching practices especially in engineering field. In addition, Dr. Michael Philip Short visited Nuclear Research Center (NRC) of NUM and presented some of his research results, and made interesting discussion with NRC staffs.

Dr. Michael Philip Short made SWOT analysis on Nuclear Engineering curriculum which belongs Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, SEAS and provided valuable recommendations and advises for further improvement. After his return he will provide official recommendations on this curriculum through IAEA.
