This course addresses the design of scripting languages and technologies, and their applications including data and text manipulation, automating complex tasks. This course will cover nature of scripting languages, interpreter, role of scripting languages, and introduction of the popular scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python and Bash and will provide scripting patterns.

•	Describe scripting languages and command interpreters
•	Explain task automation by using scripting
•	Understand role and benefits of scripting
•	Demonstrate basic scripting in the Unix environment using Bash script
•	Use regular expression to search text
•	Develop scripts in Python using module mechanism to add functionality
•	Parse markup documents with JavaScript
•	Understand Object-Oriented technology in JavaScript and use JavaScript patterns in event-driven web applications
